Therapeutic Approach & Background:

I am a London based Art Psychotherapist with training in Analytical and Psychodynamic therapy from the University of Roehampton, and a background in Illustration and Fine Art from Camberwell College of Arts. Since qualifying, I have further specialised my clinical work to focus on Mental Health, Special Educational Needs (SEN), PTSD, Complex PTSD (C-PTSD), and Addiction.

My professional development has been supported by accredited training, including the Children’s Accelerated Trauma Training delivered by Trauma Psychology, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills Training delivered by the British Isles DBT Training (Behavioural Tech Institute). Additionally, the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) course on “Art Therapy with Young People Who Self-Harm and/or Express Suicidal Ideation” has helped refine my clinical approach in supporting clients facing these challenges.

As an Art Psychotherapist, I have worked with children and young people presenting with a range of SEN needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech, Language & Communication Needs, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Selective Mutism, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I also have extensive experience supporting children and young people affected by Mental Health difficulties such as Anxiety, Depression, Dissociation, and PTSD—particularly those impacted by Domestic Abuse.

Alongside my clinical work, I have also facilitated creative group sessions for adults in non-therapeutic settings. This has included supporting a creative art group within a drug and alcohol service, as well as planning and leading art and gardening groups on acute mental health wards in London hospitals. These roles have broadened my experience of how creative activities can foster engagement, expression, and wellbeing in diverse contexts.

Another branch of my current professional career is working as the Designated Mental Health Lead across three schools. This role enables me to contribute strategically and holistically to the mental health and wellbeing of the whole school communities.

Pursuing Art Psychotherapy felt like a natural path for me —bridging my passion for art and creativity with a commitment to supporting mental health, shaped by my own lived experience of mental health challenges and addiction. I hold a strong belief that creative expression and therapeutic relationships can play a vital role in exploring and healing early life experiences, strengthening one’s sense of self, and working through personal obstacles.
